Introducing Solids

Introducing solids to your baby for the first time

This is not, and should not be a scary thing. I promise!

If your baby is starting to take interest in what you are eating, and look at you like he/she wants whatever it is you are having…your baby is ready to try solids!

Start with stage 1, this is single foods for your baby to try, like ripe avocado, sweet potato (baked so its soft), butternut squash, winter squash, etc. Really just try to try single foods that are currently in season. Also, no shame here this can be food you bake or make for your baby or pouches or jars that you buy from the store.

This part is the easiest part….
Literally all of the stages combined + you can add in strawberries and whole milk starting at 1 year old!

Once I got passed Stage 1 and introducing a lot of different types of foods to see if my son would react then the rest of the stages really all blended together. You can mix and match different fruits and veggies you think would go well together. My son boycotted meat for a very long time but he LOVES tofu…so we sneak protein in his diet in very sneaky ways.

I pureed and made my own baby food for awhile, but that got to be exhausting and I hated doing the dishes.

Here are some subscriptions that I currently still use off Amazon where my sons baby food is just delivered to my door each month, its MAGIC.

Plum Organics Stage 1
Plum Organics Stage 2
Plum Organics Stage 4
Happy Tot - Super Morning Pouches
Happy Tot - Fiber + Protein Pouches
Plum - just prunes
*you need these on hand always
Gerber Yogurt Melts

I could go on forever, but these are the main items that I have showing up to my door each month and that we ALWAYS keep stocked in our pantry.

You got this mama! You are doing great!
