When life gives you lemons... put them in your water.

Blog #5 - Whole30 & Crave Health - 30 Day Reset Update

Butternut Squash

Butternut Squash

So crazy, we are coming to the close of work week 2 doing the Whole30 & Crave Clean! Meals this week were 100% better, and more filling than last week. I think the cookbook has AMAZING recipe's don't get me wrong, but I don't think you need to follow it religiously. Our favorite meal this week was Jamaican Jerk chicken with roasted broccoli, and butternut squash with a hint of cinnamon. SO GOOD!

I mentioned in a previous blog about our work water challenge, and it is in full swing! I have to admit I was getting so sick of plain water, that I started cutting up lemons each morning in our kitchen at work, and adding them to my shaker bottle. This was clutch, a total game changer on the water challenge front. Not only does this make me drink more water, but I actually like to drink it and I feel like its kinda like secret lemonade (anything to make me feel like I am beating the diet... when I am not). If you really want to change your life, do half fresh lemon and half fresh lime in your water... whhhatttt! Flavor explosion!

Last week with the water challenge and Whole30, I felt amazing (gut wise). I didn't feel bloated, I was feeling skinny and like progress was being made. This week is a total different song and dance. I am feeling bloated, no where near feeling the way I was feeling last week, and its discouraging! As I am writing this... I am wondering if its the Lemon?!? NO! Lord I hope not. Has anyone else felt this way the second week of Whole30? I am also curious if my body is just still in detox mode, and this may just be step two? So many questions on the table this week, and hopefully next week I am feeling more where I would like to be.

We are going to take the same approach we took week 2 for week 3, and do a lot of veggie & chicken meal prep. Since I am prepping for 2 humans, I need to double the amount we made last week to make sure all lunches & dinners are covered. This means, I may need to buy a second set of my favorite lunch containers (Here is a link if you are interested), I absolutely love these and they are dishwasher safe! I want to try some new veggies, but we will totally be keeping the carrots and butternut squash on the menu from last week - total hit!

I also realized this week that I haven't blogged much (cough at all cough) about our work out routine, and how that is going. There is a lot to talk about on that topic, and I think I will dedicate the Sunday Blog to that topic. Maybe even throw in a Vlog about how much we SUCK at working out, and being 'gym' people. I will say on a quick (warning- I go on a full tangent here...) note, shout out to these girls who are in full hair and makeup at the gym. I swear to god, my face is red, i'm sweating, potentially (someone call an ambulance) dying on the treadmill, and these girls don't have a drip of sweat on them on the stair master, and their false eyelashes are perfectly in place. More power to you girlfriend, not only am I jealous, but I need the name of your hair and makeup artist, because my ish don't work that well. (end tangent)

Anyways, Sunday get a peak into our workout world. We are not good at it, and we don't look pretty doing it... but we are showing up and trying to get ish done!

Don't forget to comment below with your thoughts, advice, rants or whatever you please.

See you all Sunday!
