FridaMom Hospital Kit - Full Review
The upfront and honest (real time) review of the $99 fridamom hospital kit for labor & postpartum.
Let me start this by saying it’s 1am, I delivered my daughter 23 hours ago and I am by all meanings of the word, exhausted.
As I sit in my postpartum room, watching my husband swaddle our new baby girl back to sleep, I wanted to quickly and honestly review the $99 fridamom labor and postpartum kit I purchased.
gown- 100% worth every penny.
Hospital gowns are starchy, uncomfortable and meant to be worn and then discarded. My advice, wear the hospital gown to deliver (it’s going to be messy as hell) and then once you are able to get up and change (hours after birth) treat yourself to this comfortable nursing gown.
The gown itself is flowy, soft, easy to snap on and off for breastfeeding and every woman’s dream…it has pockets.

socks- These were also so comfortable and great for the hospital.
The socks they give you are large and go up your ankle, the frida socks are below the ankle and I think they are even a bit compression. They kept my swelling at bay and they were easy to slip on and off before and after birth.

undies- 100 stars to this product.
The mesh undies they give you at the hospital are fine, but the frida undies are incredibly comfortable and not to mention much better looking (not that literally anyone is looking or judging lol). These just made me feel for comfortable and confident in my body. It comes with 4 pairs but honestly you are slipping in and out gigantic pads that you can reuse the undies and just change out your pads the size of your baby.

peri bottle- yes to everything about this peri bottle.
So much I bought a second one. The hospital bottles they give you are basically a squirt bottle for condiments lol. It’s hard and tricky to get the hospital peri bottle situated, the frida one of course is a dream. It compacts, easy to use and has a slip you can repack it in so it doesn’t get water all over your travel bag. Basically you fill it with warm water, put the top on, flip it upside down and the little arm shoots warm water upwards for you- it’s so easy.

Cooling pad liners- From not sure, to give me more.
I wasn’t sure about these because I swore and still swear by the AER witch hazel rounds they give you at the hospital (I always ask for like 3-4 extra packs and they will always give them to you). But I was pleasantly surprised by these pad liners, they are long and rectangle so they fit perfectly on your pad. They also include witch hazel and lots of other goodies in the pad, so they give the same cooling, healing effect. I would definitely keep using these, but I also love the rounds from the hospital just as much.

healing foam- Newest obsession, a true must have for VB.
I didn’t use any form of foam or spray last go around, and exclusively used the aer witch hazel Rounds. I highly regret that decision now after adding in this healing foam and the ice packs. It gives an extra laYer of cooling and healing and helps your under region tremendously. I am a true believer in having this in your arsenal, and will continue to use this through my healing process.

Ice packs- I wasn’t sure, then I used them and fell in love.
I honestly tried these a few days after my hospital stay, I wasn’t sure they would live up to my usual go to (Padcicles - look them up on Pinterest). But I was in an emergency, had no pads on me and needed an ice pack BADLY, and so I grabbed one of the absorbent ice packs, and well… I was not only relieved I was pleasantly surprised.

travel bag- Convenient.
Compact, good looking and everything fits nicely and I even through in some other items into my kit and it all fit nicely. It’s extremely easy to carry and keep in any bathroom and pack in any hospital bag.

As you can see everything on this list got a 10/10.
It was well worth the $99 and I would buy it again if I was having any more babies. This should 100% go on your list of must haves, your baby registry or mama registry and if you have a pregnant friend you should get this for her or make sure she knows about it, that is if she is having a vaginal birth.
it definitely was something I used every item in the hospital and then continued using at home (now writing this from home). I’m impressed and it made my experience easier and more comfortable than the first go around.
