Honest VS Hello Bello

An honest (no pun intended) review of the Honest Diaper subscription VS the Hello Bello Diaper Subscription.

I have been team Honest since day 1 with my son, so about the last year and a half. I mean I was completely bought in, I have the diaper bag (still a huge fan), I was using the skincare for awhile (did nothing for me), we use the baby shampoo, and obviously ordering the monthly subscription of diapers and wipes for my son.

Our subscription was $79.95 a month for 7 packs of diapers and 4 packs of wipes.
With ANOTHER baby on the way, and the need of TWO diaper subscriptions, at least for awhile - this price was just killing me slowly every time I thought about it.

Now I am a big fan of Kristen Bell & Dax Sheppard, I follow their social media profiles and I knew they created Hello Bello. I had looked into it once before when they first launched, but I was stuck on how well Honest was working for us at the time.

After further research, and Hello Bello adding nighttime diaper options, as well as a military discount (my husband is a veteran of the United States Army), I started to deep dive into the cost and other peoples reviews of Hello Bello.

So here is the breakdown for you $$$

Cost

This one was a huge factor when looking at switching from honest to hello bello.

Honest Monthly cost: $86.99 x2 = $173.98

Hello Bello Monthly Cost: $65.00 x2 = $130
ONE SUBSRIPTION INCLUDES

Hello Bello offers a military discount (which my husband is a veteran) so our
total subscription cost for 2 kids is $113.16

in cost alone I am saving $60.82 a month…

How Well the product works

I tried huggies, pampers, Costco, etc. and my son either blew out or peed through all of those brands- it was a freaking disaster.

I got my Hello bello box in the mail (extremely cute btw, they made their box a pumpkin you can “carve” for Halloween) the first test we did was the night time diaper test.

My son slept through the night in his Hello Bello and I was pleasantly surprised to find a full wet diaper on him in the morning but absolutely NO LEAKAGE! Everything was dry and good to go, the hello bello held up extremely well.

Next is the day time diaper, they compare just the same to honest and hold in both #1 and #2’s very well - no blowouts or leakage here either.

The wipes are about the same in texture and how damp they stay but one thing I can attest to is they DO NOT come out in clumps like Honest wipes do… I would go through so many wipes just trying to get one out, probably the second most frustrating thing about Honest.

November 2021 update: WIPES. Whoever changed the wipes, please please go back to the old design. They are pulling up in clumps just like honest did and it’s burning through wipes faster than usual. It’s annoying for middle of the night diaper changes, or especially for blow out situations when you can’t get the wipes to disconnect from one another. Hello Bello if your reading this….. go back to the wipes from the beginning of 2021 or 2020 or 2019 whatever that design was, was perfect. This new one is just bad.

User Friendly Sites

This seems like a funny thing to review, but honest was somewhat of a nightmare to login on my phone and update subscriptions every month so I really wanted to see what Hello Bello’s online model looked like.

Honest pros:
Cute prints offered consistently & new prints for each season
ability to pick size and print
can mix sizes & nighttime vs daytimes
ability to cancel at anytime

Honest Cons:
prints are not always available
using mobile to edit bundles each month is a pain (a lot of clicking)
Always had trouble signing in (same mobile and laptop every time)
only allowed to use a discount code 1 time on subscription

Hello Bello Pros:
cute & new prints for each season
ability to pick different bundle sizes
can mix daytime & nighttime diapers in bundle
ability to change subscription frequency
ability for a continuous discount code
layout to change prints/sizes is much easier to find and quickly do

Hello Bello Cons:
The prints aren’t as cute as Honest
^The worst con am I right?! Shouldn’t even qualify but its the only thing i’ve found so far
