Teething: The ultimate guide

Nothing about teething is fun, it’s not fun for you, and its definitely not fun for your baby.

My son had about 4 teeth by 6 months old and now has a total of about 10 by 11 months. I thought I got off easy because his first 8 were SIMPLE, there was so massive breakdowns, no massive chewing or drooling, no fits, fights, meltdowns, NADA NOTHING.

Then….it hit like a freaking 1000 lbs bag of bricks.

The teeth my son is currently working on are canines and molars, and these teeth let me tell you are a BITCH. Yes, I said it. Ya’ll I am in the thick of it, this is a battle I was not prepared to fight.

So far, the research I’ve done and the strategic purchases that I’ve made have helped out a lot. But, I feel like I still have a very long way to go, especially with these molars.

Here is what is working for me, and making my son happier while miserable.

Keep these in your teething arsenal

Nuby EEZ chewer + soothing gel combo
Nuby silicone teether
Extra Wubbanubs
Nuby ice gel teether
Silicone teething necklace
Orajel baby day & night time non-medicated soothing gel
Baby banana
Silicone teethers assortment
Teething mit
Infantino 3 pack water teethers
Sofie la giraffe
Cuddly teether
Egg teether
Munchkin Fresh food teethers

so far my son has enjoyed all these teethers, and honestly I keep them everywhere around the house. I keep some in his crib so he can self soothe at night, some downstairs in the living room, some in the playroom, some in our bedroom - literally everywhere we hang out. My son will literally start to get moody out of no where and we never know when the teething pain is going to start so, that is why we have so many and keep them in all the places. I would rather have 100 laying around then be digging through things with a screaming child trying to find the one thing he likes.

Some additional things my son likes but are not necessarily teethers:
Nuby sippy cups
Nuby 9oz sippy cup
Munchkin sippy cup + snacker combo

This allows them to chew while transitioning off the breast and bottle, and my son has had zero problems with the wide neck or the straw!

Mama, I hope this helps. We are all in this together, and I know were all willing to try anything for our little ones. Drop a comment below if you have comments, suggestions, tips or tricks!
